I'm reading Foundation as well.
Sent from my penis using wankertalk.

That book on Alesia seems to be good, at least picturewise... you notice that Gauls and Romans have very similar equipment.
And I should get Foundation too, that's a basic work of SF that I don't know yet

Foundation was brilliant at the time but I think well dated tho few memorable characters ....good luck tho.
If you want a better series The Expanse is fantastic ...both book ( 9 books ) and series.- 5 seasons.
I'm still listening to the rather long FDR on audio book ....might tackle Truman again after this as it is a natural segue.

The Hugo award winner...A Desolation called Peace by Arkay Marine is keeping me engaged for reading. Brilliant pair and insanely good debut novel in the case of A Memory called Empire

I've read Foundation before. I remember it fondly, but it's been 40 years. Though I suspect we may differ about it.
Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
I remember it fondly as well and was very impressed by The Mule and huge sweep of the novels.....but it does not age well in my view and even Apple could not really bring it to life in this age.
I see the second season has been announced and may reserve judgement until the entire story arc is revealed......it was always going to be a tough thing to bring to life on the screen.
It was a seminal work for the period.
Differ in what way ?

Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
I do assume that Asimov will feel very dated, I mean, I robot stays as a philosophical experiment, but as for being SF... our world has gone a different route in the meantime.
Still, it being that my favorite reading material dates from before WWII (think classic Weird Tales), maybe it will still feel more modern to me

Some of his are very relevant ...the robot detective, a lot of his robot stories ...Foundation however is dated IMNSHO
