OMFS, the writing--excluding insults--is terrible and the main character is a dumbass and the rest of the characters are total assholes and there are too many sausage shots.

But the gore, the beautiful gore. I don't care how cheesy it is, I don't care if this is just circuses and no bread, I WANT MORE BLOOD. DIE, DIE, EVERYONE DIE!!!!!

(I watch Spartacus for blood just as I watch Legend of the Seeker for Tabrett Bethell's tits and Bridget Regan's legs)

To an extent. I'd agree that the story is pretty solid, excepting the main character's actions. Seriously, the guy isn't written realistically at all. Does incredibly stupid things just for plot convenience.

Yeah, Spartacus is a bit of a moron. Batiatus is shrewd as hell, and the guy with the limp is a cunning little fucker. Crixus is just an idiot, Varro seems like a great guy and if they kill him off I'll be pissed, and Doctore scares me. When Spartacus finally fights him it'll be epic.
