Re: TV Addictions
I'm gonna haf'ta give it a try again someday... We got rid of cable about 12 - 15 years ago, so I hardly ever see TV now - don't miss it much, either (we do have a relatively big screen, at 40", but it's for movies and the kids' games.)

Re: TV Addictions
I don't really watch TV either.
Used to, went a while without it, thought I missed it.
Went to watch it back home... thought "nah, fuck it".

Dexter
Particularly the second season. Perhaps the best TV series ever.

Yeah and Law and order too, they can just be running in the background, like a screensaver. I like the Law and order 'tone' when it changes scene. That makes me look up from my computer.born-again-atheist wrote:CSIFanny wrote:CSI any flavour...

Rarely if ever watch TV, though I do like channel hopping the documentary channels sometimes. Finding random goodies is fun.

I hate cop and courtroom programs. They give the false impression that cops are good guys, the system works and there is such a thing as justice.
I hate watching the news for similar reasons.
I usually only watch documentaries or cartoons.

House MD - most of it is pretty generic and cheesy but there is usually a YES! moment in most shows - like the one I took for my sig. And Hugh Laurie is such a versatile actor as an American - who'd have thought it?

We don't have cable either. Too many bad things for my kids to accidentally see on TV these days. I watch old episodes of Law & Order on Netflix!BrettA wrote:I'm gonna haf'ta give it a try again someday... The Wire, The Sopranos, Still Game, Father Ted... but all on DVD. Never tire of any of those.

Re: TV Addictions
When Felix was born, I left the TV out on the pavement with a note on it reading, "This TV works, please take it". I didn't have a TV for 3 years and I think my life was definitely better for it. Now it's a noisy piece of furniture than sits in the corner of the room. I do find myself watching stuff most evenings now though.... Heroes, the News, any David Attenborough programme, occasionally Time Team or a decent documentary about something or another, Family Guy, Futurama, The Sipmsons, Avatar... and as my wife is an addict, I often watch Eastenders too.

Re: TV Addictions
Nothing current. I rarely watch TV, once every few weeks, maybe. But DVDs of Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm and a couple of other HBO series... that's about the extent of mine.
