I was not expecting that image reading this thread, yet somehow it could fit the darker realism that they seem to be going for. :hehe:

Been watching TNG and STD side by side. I prefer STD. TNG is laughably bad. Jesus Christ!

It is showing its age now, but I loved it then and still have a soft spot for it. It is my favourite of the lot so far.

I feel vindicated. :smug:

I've actually warmed to this series as it's gone on. I like the whole below decks thing - it's taken the narrative out of the boardroom and onto the shop floor.

The first season of TNG is shockingly bad, but seasons 3-5 has some of the best sci-fi ever put on screen.

I'm with you there. They tried to get away from cowboys and Indians in space and within the confines of a mainstream popular show dealt with some thought provoking issues.

Well it has turned to shit. Watched them all so far and the last 'theme' with parallel universes etc. with the good guys having to pretend to be mean - has been really badly done.

Above all that horrible generic adventure style long string chords music is lazy and downright bad.

That's it for me I'm sad to say.

I watched half of the first episode and it looked shit, so I stopped watching.

I really enjoyed the full season. It is Star Trek updated for the 21st century.
