The film was never made, by the way. It never got past the preliminary stages.

Annie Hall. It was a well-made film and I liked the stylistic elements. But it didn't keep my interest and I didn't think it was particularly funny :dunno: And Woody Allen just seems annoying to me :dunno:

Living In the Material World, the George Harrison biopic. Glad I didn't have to pay for it as it was kinda boring. Also didn't learn as much about Harrison as I was expecting/hoping.

Stardust with Claire Danes and Michelle Pfeiffer. Not a bad Neil Gaiman movie adaption.

Anything with Claire Danes..."Shopgirl" for example.

I, Frankenstein. Well I knew from the previews that this was going to be awful. And it was.

Oblivion. I liked this one a lot.

Lucy, with Scarlett Johansson. Enjoyable, if somewhat forgettable.

Guardians of the Galaxy, on the other hand, was the most fun I've ever had at the movies since forever :awesome:

Just watched Robert Altman's 3 Women.

Apparently, Altman had a weird dream and, because this was the 70s and he was Robert Altman, 20th Century Fox gave him a load of money to make a flim out of it!

It's utterly bonkers and utterly brilliant. Shelly Duvall and Sissy Spacek act their little socks off. The music is haunting and the murals (apparently painted by the 3rd "woman") are freakish and disturbing.

It's very much one of those "...but what does it all mean?" movies that Hollywood only made in the late 60s and 70s (but which Bergman managed to produce throughout his career.) I loved it. Your mileage may vary. :tea:

Interesting. Never heard of it but I love both those actresses. And I loved Duvall in Altman's Popeye.

Don't watch this on an empty stomach. I'm not sure entirely what it was about, I didn't pay much attention to it, but my god - the food!

One of Ridley Scott's better late-period films, I think. I found it emotionally enriching up to the end when

I've never even heard of Matchstick Men.
And now I must go and find out what is beneath that spoiler.

The title suggests it's an octogenarian porn, but Blue Ruin is actually a rather cleaver revenge thriller which takes the likes of Straw Dogs or Death Wish and turns them on their head.
Or so the critics tell me.
I'm not sure I see the turning on the head bit, I think the critics got it from the blurb, but it's different enough, unexpected enough and tense enough to warrant a watch.
