I certainly did not mean to imply that you were personally angry - it was meant as a general comment...

My noticing of such things in books from the past has been there for a while, but I think it developed gradually. It connects with my observations on how SF books have changed, to the point where women in charge or gay Starship commanders are now commonplace - a huge difference to the "golden age"...
