Good summer movie. Loved the explosions, and this from a professional. Good development, reasonable plot, no majorRum wrote:Review please! (without spoilers!). Love this sort of movie as a rule.Gawdzilla wrote:Comes to theaters Friday.Rum wrote:Looks a bit like a scary version of E.T. to me!

It's our relative bench marks, no? You loved "X-men, First Class", so I went in ready to be disappointed.Animavore wrote:I'm looking forward to hating this

I haven't met anyone who didn't like X-Men: First Class yet.

Ayaan and I were meh about it. I felt it was a check-list movie, filling in the back story for people who hadn't read the comic books.Animavore wrote:I haven't met anyone who didn't like X-Men: First Class yet.

I don't see how it matters if it was. It was neatly told with no irrelevant fluff with great pacing. The director managed the amount of characters well considering the difficulties with having multiple characters, there were no Scarlett Johanssen's in this film (a reference to her superfluous and totally pointless character in Iron Man 2), not really.Gawdzilla wrote:Ayaan and I were meh about it. I can't think of one superhero movie which isn't a "checklist" movie. Fan bois, famously, get rather angry if certain quotas aren't filled.

By checklist movie I mean they had certain plot points that had to be included to tell the back story. This one didn't engage me.Animavore wrote:I don't see how it matters if it was. Well I can't see how else it could've been. Sure they could've rewrote the story but, y'know, those fan bois.Gawdzilla wrote:By checklist movie I mean they had certain plot points that had to be included to tell the back story.
