Have you ever walked out of a film/movie?
I have a few times when a film was crap. I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (really not convinced I should, but I enjoyed the first two so I thought what the hell).
It was terrible. So I walked out half way through.

Re: Have you ever walked out of a film/movie?
Hah, yeah... me and my girlfriend at the time wanted to go see Wall-E, but misread the times and found that there was only the newest X-files and some rubbish documentary going... so I thought I'd defy the critics and have a gander at the X-files, which I at least liked the first filmatisation of.
It was so transparent and straight-forwardly made that we were partially laughing and cringing... My headstrong girlfriend, in a display that I will always love her for, insisted that we march out, and went to the ticket office and got our money back. She lied her arse off about the picture being fuzzy, insisting after they'd checked that it was and that she wanted her money back, and indeed got it in the end... I was meandering on the outskirts of the conversation all the while.
I wish I had as much balls as her, in some ways.
Incidentally I fell asleep during the last Pirates flick... but didn't walk out... knew it'd be rubbish, but it was for the benefit of some underage immigrants that I work with, so I wasn't out of pocket or anything, indeed I was earning money as I was watching/sleeping through the bastard.

I wanted to walk out of The Village. Dull, predictable, poor; but she wouldn't leave.

I said if I check my watch three times I leave. If anybody's riding with me, and they want to get home, they leave too. As for the movie, if I thought it was crap before going I wouldn't go.Crumple wrote:Not everyone goes to the movies alone, or for the crap movie.Gawdzilla wrote:Not sure what you mean.Crumple wrote:Your one of those sitting alone at the front then?Gawdzilla wrote:I use the watch rule. 28 weeks later. Horrible film.
I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. [...] I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me. - Richard Feynman

Re: Have you ever walked out of a film/movie?
No, but I only go to the movie theater about 3 times a year.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked

I got free tickets to a preview of "Radio Flyer"... half the audience walked out - it was utter shite.
