An annoying kid could easily killed the movie, but I thought Osment gave a rather good performance :dono:
I didn't see the twist ending coming  But even if I did, it wouldn't have mattered. I still like the way the story unfolded.
You didn't see the end early on?
Naw, I honestly didn't. I guess I just wasn't thinking too hard on it. But even if I did, it wouldn't have bothered me. The surprise ending wasn't all there was to the movie, and overall I thought it was very fresh and original.
Ditto that. Hubby liked it, too, and he did not see the twist coming, either. We sometimes do see "The Angle" coming, but not with Sixth Sense.

LOL I hadn't seen Die Hard before I watched Sixth Sense, so I guess I didn't have that image of him in my head. My only problem with Bruce Willis in this film was his fake hair.
:hehe: I had seen quite a few episodes of Moonlighting before I saw Die Hard, so Willis has never been exclusively an action hero for me.

M. Night. Shamalangadingdong only made one good film - Unbreakable.

I watched Twin Town the other night (having had my memory jogged here by Pappa) - fucking epic film - almost enough to make you like the Welsh!

Ah, I rarely watched TV in those days.

I'll have to pick that up. I get my DVDs used these days, so they don't cost an awful lot. I remember being underwhelmed when I saw it years ago, but I'll be happy to give it another chance.

I've actually got Lady in the Water in my amazon cart  I know it's pants, but I like Paul Giamatti (he was fucking hilarious in the Planet of the Apes remake). And the woman who plays the watery tart is awfully pretty.

I watched the first half of District 9.. it started getting interesting when the dude had his arm turn into tentacle thing.. but I was already bored so I turned it off. :ddpan:

Then I finished watching Tank Girl. Much more interesting. :smoke:

Watched Iron Man 2 (girlfriend hadn't seen it yet), and it was worth rewatching just for Sam Rockwell's endearingly, goofily evil Justin Hammer.

Life as we know it wasn't bad for a romantic comedy.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Cube. Brilliant on several levels.

Don't read the wiki article on it, it's full of fucking spoilers. I'm glad I didn't look there before I watched the film. :nono:

"How to Train Your Dragon". Good childrens' movie with enough fun for adults to avoid the "I'll wait in the lobby" syndrome.

I couldn't make it through that movie, it was just stupid.

We saw Secretariat a few days ago. Great flick, although I wasn't too thrilled about the choice of song they used in the end.

Agree, though I don't consider it a kid's movie but rather an all-ages movie. I suppose it is a kid's movie, though. It was based upon a series of children's books, and both the books and film were aimed at kids. I guess it's my refusal to properly grow up that makes me feel like this movie was aimed at me
Just got the 2-DVD special edition, and watched an "extra" animated short on the second disc, with some trepidation. It turned out to be wonderful, though. Astonishingly beautiful animation, great voice work, and a fun and fresh and engaging story, just like the main feature. Compare that with some (but not all) of DreamWorks' other films, as showcased as well on the extras disc as music videos: trite, cliche-ridden, uninspired, vapid, and stupifyingly...stupid :ddpan: How to Train Your Dragon, particularly by contrast, stands out as a gust of fresh leather-wing-beaten air.
