Billy is stumbling all over himself introducing Angelina Jolie. As you do.

She really does look awfully thin. Like she hasn't been well.

The Descendants wins for best adapted screenplay. Never heard of it.

ETA: Oops. That's Clooney's film. Guess I have heard of it.

Midnight in Paris wins for Best Original Screenplay. He isn't there to accept. Woody Allen, that is.

Adam Sandler wants to tell the truth with his acting.

At least he's frank he hasn't really done it yet.

Unless "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" is far more evocative and subtle than its title and premise would lead you to expect.

Milla Jovovitch presented the technical awards.

I remember when she used to be on the cover of Teen Magazine.

Her dress, one-shouldered and white/silvery, had an interesting texture.

The cast of Bridesmaids presents for Best Short Documentary (?)

Irish couple wins.

The girls make a drinking game joke about Marty. Cute.

Saving Face wins for another documentary category that most people don't care about.

I am flagging a bit. But it's almost eleven. So we're almost at the exciting ones. Yay! :cheer:

All things considered, Michael Douglas is looking pretty good.

He's presenting for best director.

Is Woody Allen sick? He's not even in the clips about the directors.

but hey, The Artist wins! Score 2 for Rum!

Michel Havanicius (?) looks sort of like an older, French James Franco. Something in the way he carries himself.

Ah, Meryl Streep is up. Boy she looks fantastic. I don't care for her actual earrings, but the idea of them is right.

Presenting for the Jean Kirscholt award- went to Oprah, James Earl Jones, and another guy I recognize who is very old but whose name I don't remember.

Someone on a balcony started playing a violin. But we don't get to hear that-- commercial break.

After the break is the "In Memoriam" reel. I imagine Elizabeth Taylor will play a big role. And Peter Falk, too. Oh, and Harry Morgan.

And more, that I didn't hear about or forgot. :sniff:

I have to say, this has been the best Oscars I've seen in many years. Relaxed, classy, the reels were entertaining, for the most part, the acts were good, nothing has been legitimately cringe-worthy yet.

Peter Falk was a great actor. I loved his role in A Woman Under The Influence.
