It was only hyped so much over here because it was a British film which won an Oscar and you know what the Brits are like anytime they win anything. Sure they're still going on about '66.

Are you a David Caruso fan too?

No I don't think he has much of a personality, or that he's very believable as an actor. Furlong, on the other hand, has a strong presence and comes across as natural and believable. I think his performance is what turned T2 into something special. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have given two shits about the film. It would have been something cool (because of the action and special effects) but ultimately forgettable (like Avatar).

There was quite a buzz here, I suppose because it won an Oscar. I've never seen it, and honestly don't know anything about it, but I like the director's other films so I intend to pick it up at some point.

I agree. He was natural. Not like the teenagers in most other films who have precocious morals and dignity.
