"Excalibur" was painful to watch. "Red Cliffs" didn't bother me. I haven't seen it.Svartalf wrote:I don't go for cameron shit either. I go for stuff like Excalibur or Red Cliffs

Well, I enjoyed it. Some of the best medieval Asian stuff made since Kurosawa passed away.

I watched it because I was bored.. and I hated it. Maybe watching it again would change my mind since I was already inclined to hate it, but probably not.Animavore wrote:This was one of the bad cliché ridden films.Svartalf wrote:Whose? because if you mean avatar, I didn't watch it.Zombie Gawdzilla wrote:Admit it, you spent the entire movie trying to get a look at her nipples.Svartalf wrote: Either in the wrong thread or wanking to na'vi porn.

Don't. It's worse on the second viewing. The special effects have totally worn.PordFrefect wrote:I watched it because I was bored.. and I hated it. No, but for Zola. In fact, I add that as #4 on my list of three. An incredible film from an incredible book.Zombie Gawdzilla wrote:You don't go to the movies for Balzac.Svartalf wrote:Which I knew in advance and is why I didn't watch it.

Re: Your top 5 ("Three sir!") 3 movies
My three most watched movies of all time are, in order of magnitude:
1. Star Wars V - The Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars IV - A New Hope
3. Star Wars VI - The Return of the Jedi
I watched Empire and New Hope much more because for about 3 years I didn't have RotJ. I don't know how many times I watched them, but the VHS tapes eventually wore out.

Kurosawa was a master. I don't know if I like him or Tarkovsky more.Bella Fortuna wrote:I have an Xmas card from Akira Kurosawa.
