Actually, we (= the whole family) are eagerly waiting for Snow White and the Huntsman. The kids have seen the trailers and they cannot wait (they say) and we have said NO WAY you are watching that at the cinema, it will be a home movie with parents or not at all.

Interestingly, even YD agreed.

"The Huntsman" is a whole category rougher than "Mirror, Mirror".

We know. We ALL know. I've even told the kids that I need to sit next to MiM because I will need to hide behind him at times. They laugh and say I'm silly (or something less polite) - we'll see who laughs after the film.

But they just won't watch "sissy stuff" anymore (especially not YD).

"Mirror, Mirror" isn't goodie two-shoes. Just sayin'.

I'll try to convey that to them - boosted by a few pictures of you ("If THAT guy thinks...").

I have few illusions of even that tactic working - they are growing so stubborn. I wonder how that can be...

I really liked the part when Snow White battled the giant bandits. But the Beast of the Woods that killed her father was really fascinating.

They went for the gross out in that movie, and achieved the walk out.

Serpico. I hadn't realised it was based on true events.

The folks in the US were waiting for that movie. The IRL story was too good to not be a movie.

Oh wait there isn't a '2'! :hehe:
There should be, because that doesn't mean anything :dunno: He doesn't have natural super-human powers but with his tools/suit he has plenty. There are several classic super heroes who don't have superhuman powers (The Phantom, Green Arrow, Black Widow, Hawkeye, even Iron Man actually. There are loads more, especially in the much older comics). There are claims the term itself was first used in print about a character without any super-human powers (The Guardian) but I don't know if that's true or not (doesn't seem to hold up, it seems to be older). I do know though that it is widely accepted and historical in comics that a super-hero doesn't have to be naturally super-human. I has lots of rabid comic geek friends who would like to tell you all about it :tea:

Thinking about it Al Pacino has been in some bloody good films; Serpico, The Godfather, Scarface, Scent of a Woman. Not to mention his legendary appearance in Stella Street.

I see that at least one of you have seen The Marvel Avengers. It opens in my area on May 4th and I'm planning to see it on the 5th with some gaming friends. One of them loaned me the earlier movies for Thor, Hulk and Iron Man. I've only seen Iron Man so far, and am really looking forward to seeing Avengers. I'm not sure if I'd see it otherwise, but we're about to begin a Superhero campaign in June, so I consider it a must-see to get psyched for our game. ;)

A little person has invited me to go and see it with them next week, so thankfully I don't have to be a sad old man on his own in the cinema. Popcorn for two. Yay!
