Re: Spartacus: Blood And Sand
I watch it, and to me it looks like some moron who hired SFX personnel that ought to have stayed unemployed and watched too much the Kirk Douglas movie and 300 is trying to out HBO HBO without the actual savoir faire to do it well.

doubly so, since his worst act of cuntassery (where I'm concerned) also was his most monumental mistake... taking away Spartacus' hopes was way more stupid than dandling him along with promises while actually doing nothing.AshtonBlack wrote:Batiatus. What A CUNT.

Re: Spartacus: Blood And Sand
Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread, but I received Season 1 for Christmas, and by bloody Christ I could not even make it past the first 15 minutes of the first episode. The writing was horrible and the action was not engaging at all. It took the worst things about '300' and ramped them up to 11. I might give it another chance after reading some of the praise here... but I've already moved on to ROME: Season 1 and I'm loving it. Well-drawn characters and great story. I'll give Spartacus his chance after I finish Rome.

I thought it was just me. I found it on the Bravo Sky channel a few months ago, recorded several episodes, and settled down for a good watch.
