I must cheat - it's a tie for me.
Either:
l'année derniere à Marienbad
or:
The Seventh Seal
Which is the greatest film of all. Nothing else comes close. (Except one or two of Bergman's other films.)

I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.

Which I watched again yesterday. I am still amazed at the performance of Brannah and Tucci in this. Even Colin Firth is doing a sublime job.leo-rcc wrote:Conspiracy.

Difficult one to answer.
If pressed I'd have to say Children of Men, I think. I love the documentary feel and the long takes. The opening scene is a shocker and superbly done.

It hasn't been said, and it must be:
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

I wasn't expecting much from Children of Men. I just thought it would be some action film, but I was really pleasantly surprised. I loved it.Bri wrote:Difficult one to answer.

Re: What is your FAVOURITE movie?!
I like films like Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club so I guess I'm a bit of a lightweight where films are concerned. I also enjoy spoof films such as Shaun of the Dead etc but if I have to pick one film it would have to be Tremors because I just love that film.
