Dudley Moore was funny with Peter Sellers. On his own, no.
I think you probably mean Peter Cook.
Yes. Not Only...But Also... is still great and makes me laugh.

Heh heh. You are a wonder Bella.

Pete and Dud (aka Derek and Clive) are comedy giants.

Derek and Clive Get the Horn is one of the greatest comic works of all time.
This really is NSFW (verbally)

No.
That explains why he's not funny anymore....

But, to digress...remember he was in that movie "10" with Bo Derek?

I think I was 12 when I saw that movie, maybe 13. I think I strained my forearm watching Bo Derek...

Sorry lp. I just found it annoying crap.
Elmo Phipps?

(But his experiment to split the atom is brilliant!).
Emo Phillips, I assume you mean? He seemed funny back in the day... and indeed his writing is clever but the grating persona eclipses it.
Yep - my brain is melted today. I had a Family Law exam this morning, followed by an Intellectual Property exam this afternoon!

(Employment Law tomorrow - why am I doing this at my age?)

That I did, I had just crawled out of bed when I posted that
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

He's an embarrassment, these days. Cringe-worthy.

Dennis Miller-- remember when he was funny? Such a long time ago now.

I don't get Sarah Silverman. She kinda just seems like a bitch.

I also don't really get Katt Williams. Or Tyler Perry. Or Martin Lawrence.
I'm listing these together in case there's something cultural I'm missing, but there's a huge list of black comedians who make me laugh my ass off, so I'm not sure if it's not just that they actually aren't all that funny.

Steve Martin is still one of my favorites, but my gawd he makes some bad films.
Again, cringe-worthy.

Billy Crystal seems to have passed his prime a long time ago--
Though I'm not sure-- was he really a comedian? Or more of a "humorist"?
He's likeable, still. Just not all that funny.

Can someone explain why Larry the Cable Guy is famous?

And was Bob Hope ever actually funny? If I were old, would I have laughed at him?

There are any number of people who've had Comedy Central specials that I could name--
But I'll stick with the ones I can actualy name off the top of my head.
Billy Crystal is mostly funny now, because he's gone all Hollywood and had his face fucked up by plastic surgery.

It is becoming the legion of the surgically deformed fizzogs over there.
Is that what happened? I saw him on Jon Stewart a while back, and thought he looked strange...

I liked the movie Arthur and the movie where he keeps getting hoodwinked by the Devil.
"Crazy People" is a great movie.
