It was like a poor man's In Bruges. I guess furriners think it's gas craic because of the novelty or something. I barely laughed once.

It's not as good as In Bruges, that's a classic. I did laugh at least 8 times though.

I went in to see The Grey today with my friend but it was already gone in our local, six-screen cinema :(

So instead we saw this little film which we had barely heard of.

I love that, when you know nothing about a film and it turns out to be one of the best you've seen in a while, at least from Hollywood. When the film began and I saw it was a camcorder movie I must admit my heart sank. I have never liked any of those movies.
I don't want to give too much away but it's basically about three teens who discover an undefined something under ground which leaves them all with telekenetic powers. Through out the film we see their advancing powers chronicled through various footage taken from all types of cameras, from mobile phones to security cameras but mainly through the lead protagonist's home video camera.
The three leads work really well together and there are some great laugh out loud moments as they goof around with their new found abilities in a way I found quite convincing.

It's against some rule in Hollyweird for the film industry to use anyone who knows anything about the subject of the movie.

Agreed 100%. I went last week having read something good said by a minor review, the main ones seemingly having missed its release.

A great movie and deserving of a lot more attention. Imagine what teenage lads who suddenly had telekinetic powers might do in real life and - well it was 'realistic' oddly!

You should check out Misfits, a black comedy with a similar theme.

I watched Fish Tank http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1232776/ last night - it was pretty good if a bit bleak.

I did see the muppet movie and had only one complaint which was a minor one. I thought it was pretty good.

I've not long finished watching Martha Marcy May Marlene. I'm uncertain as to whether or not it was any good, but it was certainly filled with the kind of sustained heavy foreboding which I enjoy in movies.
