It was quite good.... and I enjoyed it. But really, I'm a bit bored of the Modern British Ganster Film™ style. Once you've seen Lock Stock, Snatch and Layer Cake, it gets a bit samey after that.
Hmm... well I suppose I don´t have to watch this one since Vinnie Jones isn´t in it

I might make it a mission to watch all the movies he has been in :ask:
It's worth a watch, better than Layer Cake. I just wish someone would do something a bit different now.

Fuck, yes. All are excellent roles, but Ben Mendelsohn is absolutely chilling ...

I sent the dvd to a friend over there a while back, but he's not received it in the mail yet. I suspect customs has it because the parcel included lavender oil. :(

I thought we said tv shows/seasons don't count, only if they are feature-length episodes :dunno:

Edited to add: I have no problem if we can, I can add a few to my list is all so I just want to clarify

I can take those out, I just think they should count since they are typically longer than the average move per cd anyway.

Haneke's films are skillfully crafted ends in themselves. He did not mind making huge changes to the novel La Pianiste is based on in order to get the filmic results he was after. Though I appreciate the skill involved, that kind of film is not my cup of tea. Similar applies to another work of his (Le temps du loup) that I have seen.

I saw The White Ribbon last year - which is excellent btw. I also saw, and was impressed by, Caché when it came out a few years back but only found out that he directed it yesterday - at the time, I had not heard of him so I did not make the connection on seeing The White Ribbon. Once I realised that the two were by the same director, I knew I had to watch more of his stuff! I now have a queue - La Pianiste was the first - I am leaving Funny Games till last.

7. The Pianist - I quite enjoyed it. WWII film about a Polish pianist and the struggle he went through. Jewish Pianist I should mention.
