Top film. My favourite from last year along with Antichrist. I did write about it here but it went unnoticed :hehe:
I should have put it in this thread.
I noticed. I was thinking of watching this film in any case but that tipped the balance.

I find it hard to believe that Jeff Bridges gave a better performance than Tahar Rahim. Or that El Secreto De Sus Ojos is more deserving of the Foreign language film award. I will be watching both soon.

(Actually, I find the fact that there is a 'foreign language film' award says pretty much all that needs to be said about the oscars - A couple of dozen awards for films we understand and one for those that we don't! :nono: )

I just watched Astro Boy. Though the story was not without its problems, the movie was much better than I thought it would be. It was a beautiful film visually, it had a lot of nice humorous touches, and the voice acting was tops. I laughed a lot, and at the end I cried. Which is just the way it should be.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

All About My Mother is one of my favorite movies, Talk To Her is also fantastic. Well, they're pretty much all great but those are my two favorites.

Saw it. It was ok. A bit boring.

Saw Shutter Island on saturday. DAft as a barrel of monkeys, made no sense at all but was entertaining.

Enjoyment slightly spoiled by the jerk slouched off to one side of me who kept checking his phone every 14 seconds the whole way through the film, Note to jerk - you are a jerk and nothing important is going to happen while you watch the film. Now kill yourself.

They are everywhere. A friend of mine used to check his phone every few minutes to see if he had a text. It was a compulsion.
