Thanks, Pappa and Rachel - a whole family movie? (the girls are 10 and 12 now)

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

It's pretty sad and a bit emotionally heavy, so you know your girls best, but there is nothing inappropriate in it at all.

No, no, hon. It's just that I can't believe they think I'd like a movie like that. And I also think they're trying to tell me something :ddpan:

But thanks for the hugs :awesanta:

Thanks :tup:

So Elder Daughter will love it and Younger Daughter will be bored to tears - as always with films like that. ED is into human relationships, YD is into action - finding a film that the whole family will like is... quite an undertaking to say the least. :sigh:

The film's not really what it seems to be...

I watched the original tron the other night. I had forgotten quite how fucking awesome a film it is. :woot:
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

   $str = str_replace(array("\{","\}")," ",$str);

Yeah.... I watched it just before I watched Tron Legacy. The original is excellent. :biggrin:

Surprised me.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird. Kinda fun. Kinda not. Well made in the typical tradition of Korean cinema to do things, if anything, a bit too precisely. It's the type of movie which depends upon being propelled along by surprising twists and outstanding stunt work and choreography. Alas, while the choreography and plotting was very good, it seldom rose to the level of putting a shit-eating grin on your face, as some of the best of Chinese and Hong Kong cinema in this genre does, though there was one scene which stood out as an example of wire work, only without the wires, using ropes and pullies extant in the set. Overall, it was extremely good, but it needed that something else to put it over the top, and failing that, basically left me feeling somewhat flat. Four out of five stars. (I might be somewhat swayed by the inclusion of Song Kang-ho, whose performance in The Host was outstanding, even among a very strong set of performances all-around in that film. Jung Woo-sung's performance as Park Do-won [the Good] also deserves praise.)
