Mel may be a little fucked up in the head, but I think that's an essential part of the creative process :hehe: While there were some plot holes if you thought about it too hard, Apocalypto was a good film. I liked it as well.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Saw Inglourious Basterds last night and I thought it was terrific. Christoph Waltz... absolutely bloody brilliant.

I agree, Christoph Waltz made this movie from just good to genius.

I finally got round to watching Grindhouse. Everybody told me it was shite, but I enjoyed it, especially Planet Terror which was hilarious.

Last film I watched was Sunshine by Danny Boyle. One of the better sci fi offerings of recent times, and the DVD has a commentary by Dr. Brian Cox about the science of the film (or lack thereof in places).

I'm currently entering a bit of a British film phase, so I've bought a 9 disc boxed set of David Lean's stuff as well as Lawrence of Arabia (why do they never include the best films in boxed sets?) a couple of Ken Loach films, Mike Leigh's latest film, Happy Go-Lucky, and Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Frears, featuring the very sexy Audrey Tautou.

Crazy Heart. One of Jeff Bridges great roles.

This filmPonyo.
Really sweet and beautifully animated. One for the kids and people like me who love animation and art work. People of a heartless disposition won't like it.

I recently found Hulu and am enjoying the tales about Zatoichi the blind swordsman. Japanese, with subtitles, made in 1963 and 1964. I love the photography and sets. All the slicing and dicing is almost completely bloodless - he whacks someone and they fall down to die very cleanly, but then modern movies go over the top on gore. 6 full length movies.

I am curious what other free streaming movie sites exist that folks like.

Just watched 9 last night. Very very cool, visually stunning. Could've used a better script, though. While watching the DVD extras, I saw to my horror that the script was written (in whole or in part, I'm not sure) by the same person who'd written the script for Corpse Bride. That explains 9's deficiencies, then. One of the character's dialogue in one scene, for instance, seemed to be lifted straight from Planet of the Apes (Dr. Zaius?).

I am dying to watch that. if this place ever calms down enough to take an evening off, it is on my list. I love the Studio Ghibli stuff.

Saw "Creation" yesterday. We had to track down the "artsy" theater in town, but it was worth it. (So was mocking Saks Fifth Avenue. :hehe:)

Its not as good as the others. Its aimed at younger kids than normal. Beautiful to look at and is never too baby-ish.

I just finished watching The Fog of War.
