The Da Vinci Code. The movie that proved that all the dullness we can see in the universe is but 1% of the total dullness. The other 99% is dark dullness, supplied by Ron Howard.

Angels and Demons is worse. I'm betting that nobody, cast, crew, director, producer or writers, knew how the movie was going end until they started shooting the last scenes. It was that mushed up.

A&D at least made me laugh a few times. Not intentionally, obviously.

Elf surfing on a shield? Dwarf tossing jokes? mithril mail protecting Frodo from being pureed by a cave troll that had no business being in that scene in the fist place?

LOTR does not stand on its own without the setup in The Hobbit. And even then, it's an epic with so much going on that a movie can't capture it, which is why the last one had seventeen ending scenes.

Potter is repetitive - Kids get in trouble that would end in an instant if they'd just go tell the adults what is going on, then get rescued in the end by a fluke. Repeat seven times. (I only made it through three of the books and gave up, but the movies seem to have the same plot.)

Now that I think of it, the Elf-surfing was a far worse crime than the introduced cave troll. There were at least trolls-a-plenty in Middle Earth. No surfing though, unless I missed something. :read:
