Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed it.

I'm still working my way through Winter Sonata. I'm 2/3rds of the way through and it's awesome. I want to see how it ends, but I also don't want it to end.

Korean soapie?I'm still working my way through Winter Sonata. I'm 2/3rds of the way through and it's awesome. I want to see how it ends, but I also don't want it to end.
I remember being addicted to the Japanese soapie "Oshin" in the 1980's,(shown here with subtitles)
Oshin (ja:おしん) is a Japanese serialized morning television drama, which aired on broadcaster NHK from April 4, 1983 to March 31, 1984. The series follows the life of Shin Tanokura (田倉 しん) during the Meiji period up to the early 1980s. Shin was called "Oshin", which is Japanese archaic cognomen.
In total, 297 15-minute episodes were shown. In Japan, the annual average audience share was 52.6%, with a peak rating of 62.9% for a single episode.[1] As of today, Oshin aired in 59 countries, with subtitles ranging from English to Arabic. In 1984, the earlier episodes of the drama (focused on young Oshin) were made into an animated movie by Sanrio. The movie reused Sugako Hashida's scripts and Ayako Kobayashi, who played young Oshin, did the voice of Oshin.

I didn't get the impression that it was boring from the people I know, more like from Seinfeld and such.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

Enjoyable film, I guess. I had no idea what to expect. It's sort-of a coming-of-age movie for a man who married too young and is finally realising that life has more to offer... from an unexpected source; an apparently mad folly of a sheik from the Yemen.
Score? Hmmm... 7/10

Re: What Are You Watching Now?
TV, I'm maintaining a recent thirst (courtesy, mainly, of BBC4) of Scandinavian dramas.
The Killing, The Killing II, Borgen, The Bridge... (all excellent). Wallander, I've finally gotten around to catching up with. Just finished season 1 & 2. Not as exhilarating as the previously mentioned, nor other British-made dramas... but I'm hooked on Scandinavian life, so enjoy the foreign setting (and the enjoyable characters) even if the stories aren't exactly fantastic.
I've also watched several Danish films, including the Pusher trilogy. Oh, and Bleeder.
With TV, I'm patiently waiting for The Killing III to be screened in the UK. Meanwhile, I've just downloaded the 1st season of Lilyhammer and I'm about to start watching that.

Hunh. I love Branagh's Wallander. And that's saying something, because I can't stand Branagh. (Gotta remember to DL the rest of Game of Thrones for my BFF.)
Swedish is such a pretty language, too. Any tips on where to begin?

Let's see...
We watched all of Dexter, Deadwood, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. Now we're almost at the end of The Wire. Soon we'll be watching Boardwalk Empire (I think).
