I did spoiler when I talked about the current episode above. I didn't think talking about past episodes would be a big deal. However, I did go back and spoiler.

I've noticed other threads where shows are discussed and it is not merely a thread full of spoiler tags. Sorry.

Warning! Warning! The following summarizes what the show is about!
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
It's about Madison Avenue advertising firm employees in the early 1960's. The main character is Don Draper, who actually is an assumed identity from his birth name, which he assumed during the Korean War.

Oh, don't be silly.

It's actually quite good...I think you would like it.

No that's true. Our version is infinitely better.

Last night's episode got a bit crazy.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
Don learns that his award from the American Cancer Society is hollow. His daughter Sally catches a glimpse of the seedy underbelly of the world of adults. Don's wife Megan sees her unhappy mother (although she doesn't, yet, know about her mother's penchant for blowing guys at parties, just a few feet away from everyone). Pete Campbell may have convinced, with one line, a Marxist college professor that the advertising business isn't all bad. Roger Sterling seems to have figured out a way to get back in the game, professionally and sexually. Peggy is fighting the sexual revolution, and upsetting societal norms by shacking up with a Jewish guy.
It seems like pressure is building up. Something is going to give way in the next few episodes.

This has been one of my favorite shows since it started.

Hubby and I watched this episode last night. We both had to agree that the screenwriting for this show is firing all pistons and just getting better.

I loved it.

Oh, and when Julia Ormond hit the scene, I pegged immediately what was going to happen.

I watched five or six episodes and got bored. Maybe I should give it another chance... :ask:

I was bored after five or six minutes. I watched most of the episode before I switched it off. I just didn't find it funny at all.

While it has well timed moments of relief, it's not a comedy :what:

Is it not :what:

Why is it presented like such in the publicity shots? I thought it would be Ally McBeal-esque or something.

If youse had've told me it was a drama I wouldn't even have looked at it in the first place. I'm not a fan of drama at all.
