Works for me. I can handle formulaic so long as at least one person gets torn in half by an alien. :crumple:

If this life was a real aliens movie how would the optimists manage? You'd be hugely excited with your welcome placards on top of some tall tall building whilst crumple watches from a safe distance saying 'no, no, no!' :nono: :nono: :nono:

3 stars in the Guardian today.Ridley Scott references Von Daniken (remember him?) which is a bit annoying and this bit of the review made me sigh....
Noomi Rapace is well cast as Dr Elizabeth Shaw, an intense and driven scientist who nonetheless has absorbed a calm religious faith from her father and always wears a cross around her neck. Her creationist views are never seriously challenged – except for one perfunctory complaint that she is going against "centuries of Darwinism"
Rest of the review here....

The Chariots of the Gods idea isn't any sillier than the Earth getting help from Vahalla.

(Does anybody else wonder why the robot in the first one wore a spacesuit?)

He was undercover.

Just returned from the cinema where we saw this.

Entertaining if a bit woo-ish. Plot doesn't hang together as well as it might and a few bits of acting are dodgy. But a decent couple of hours fun!

Oh - and the 'Alien' link is a bit of an afterthought in my view without giving anything away.

Threed - and it didn't add much I would say. Would have gone to the tood but the Missus and offspring outvoted me.
