I watched this tonight and must say that I actually really enjoyed it. It was exactly what it should have been. It wipes it's arse with Independence Day (Though it does have a very similar ending) it shits all over Skyline, District 9 and every other balls up invasion movie over the last few years.

It's actually handled more intelligently than you'd think and although it does have a few cheesy moments the script isn't as bad as you might expect. It looks fucking brilliant, the wide shots of LA in flames gave me goosebumps, the CG of the alien technology is never really weak or distracting and the characters aren't the usual annoy bunch of fuck wits that you usually see in a movie filled with marines. It's never going to win an award but it's an entertaining 1:56mins.

You'll love it Pawiz, if you like the trailer you won't be disappointed. Some really good bits in it. It's what the alien invasion movies of the past should have been and thankfully it isn't full of ridiculous shit like Signs where the aliens are allergic to water and they come here, it's all relatively immersive and believable within the context of it's own story. Aaron Eckhart does a decent job as front man and the supporting cast get some decent scenes too.

Is this a movie I should watch?
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Holy shit man, you're going to jizz yourself at this movie, I actually thought during it that it was quite similar to Cloverfield (which I fucking loved too) The pacing and the build up to the invasion are spot on too.

Don't get me wrong though, there are a few moments where it does become cringe worthy but they're usually followed by something even more awesome than what happened before. I usually roll my eyes at the whole "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!" stuff but by the end of Battle LA I was grinning ear to ear with the ending.

You dodged a bullet on that one, Skyline was the shittest film ever. Not even good in a guilty pleasure way.

Is there violence? Blood? Gore? Bad stuff happening to children and animals?

Sara, watch the trailers posted above, if you like them you'll like the film. It's a 12 certificate so there's no real gore or anything like that. You see some people getting injured but it's not really graphic.
