I thought you were balking at my lack of appreciate for Eastwood films, and I was advising that the fact was something you were going to need to cope with.

You have to understand the context of the film.

Richard Dawkins in the Movies
Friends With Kids - it's a sweet situation comedy about two friends who choose to have a kid. I liked it.
Opening scene: bedside table, phone ringing, sitting on top of a copy of The God Delusion.

Community. It's an odd show, but has heart without being sickening and over the top without being utterly stupid. It's a great ensemble piece, it might seem a bit "clever clever" to those who like their comedy spoon-fed to them with signifier pauses and audience laughter. Interestingly it is marketed and designed for the same audience demographic as the Big Bang Theory which to me is it's polar opposite.

Yeah I like Community a lot more the BBT. The lack of canned laughter, and the awkward humor make it much more my speed

Re: What Are You Watching Now?

I like Oldman, and in this he gives a serviceable performance, but only just. Having watched Guinness' earlier performance, I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed. The silver lining being that the supporting cast in this version is to die for. Having watched both, I'm not sure I could recommend either, though I'd give the nod to Guinness. Not having read his novels, I can only guess, but I suspect le Carre's work is not well suited to the screen.

A lot of Numb3rs lately. Like!

Re: What Are You Watching Now?
I just started watching the series Downton Abbey...if the subsequent episodes are anything like the first one it's a really good series.
