There's plenty of that.

You're determined not to watch and like it. It's ok. I've come across many in the past year. They all come into the fold in the end. I haven't met one person who wasn't gripped after the frist two episodes.

I dare you to be the first.

I don't have much interest in soap operas. I can barely handle "Sons of Anarchy", got bored with "Breaking Bad" and "Weeds".

All those show are, indeed, boring. In fact TV, in general, is shite and, except for documentaries, I don't watch it.
I wasn't even persuaded to watch Game of Thrones myself in the beginning thinking it was just going to be another of those shows everyone was raving about which I was just going to think sucked in the end. I was badly wrong.
Anyway, it's not like a soap opera, more like an adult Lord of the Rings.

I think what seperates Game of Thrones from things like Breaking bad is that GoT is based on a fantasy book series with each season representing a book. This means that it has a definite start, middle and end, unlike other TV series which can come across like they're made up as they go along as long as the ratings are up.
It's also limited to ten episodes per season and isn't padded out to make 22 per season or anything like that. So something is always happening, not like say Walking Dead which starts off with a couple of episodes to grip you. Has a load of hot air in the middle and then comes back with a cliffhanger.

Actor that plays a character that gets his fingers bitten off by a direwolf gets a bit of his ear bitten off in real life. Weird.

I haven't seen it just yet but here's what a review says.
While Season 3, like the novel on which it is based, takes a little while to get going, when it does pick up speed, it soars—particularly in the sensational third and fourth installments (“Walk of Punishment” and “And Now His Watch Is Ended”), both written by Benioff and Weiss. The first episode back lacks energy and intensity, but provides a necessary foundation off of which to build dozens of separate plots for the scattered characters.
I wouldn't of expected too much from the first episode.

It's like Lord of the Rings except with characters that are actually interesting and that you care about. The nudity is just an extra added bonus, not it's raison d'être, Zilla :nono:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

The first episode of season three starts off really slowly alright. Just laying down the plot lines. I expect more plot line laying for episode two also.

Given it's an HBO series, it'ss more an obligatory element than a bonus
