Re: Youtube Movies.
Damn. I was hoping to find a thread about difficult-to-find, film-length pearls freely available on Youtube.
A couple of months ago I found Orson Welles' last major directorial work, F for Fake, on that site. I've been hunting that that film for years. The Criterion edition sells for about 30 dollars. If you download the Youtube offering and use any basic DVD authoring program, the result on your television screen is quite acceptable. That's what I've been told.
Another treasure, though not actually a film, is Jonathan Miller's documentary series, The Body in Question. For reasons that can only be described as scandalous, this classic on the human body has never been released on DVD, and the last time I saw it even offered on tape, the vendor's asking price was something like £700. Someone uploaded all 13 episodes at 6 chunks per ep. Unfortunately, in full screen it is just too blocky because of the high compression rate's lossiness. Still, it is better than nothing. There are better quality conversions about on the torrents, but getting them invariably involves getting invites to particular trackers, and even then the downloads take ages because not being the latest fad, seeders and peers are few and far between. Again, something I've been told about.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

Re: Youtube Movies.
still not available in the Netherlands. Because I have a US connection from work I can see the option there but there is no way that I will watch full length movies while at my desk.
