Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Children, can you please keep your petty arguments to somewhere relevant like spam and trash?

Re: Battle Los Angeles
I watched this movie yesterday. On one hand, it's two hours, but I didn't feel it long, so I guess that's kudos for the rythm and screenplay.
On the other hand I felt absolutely unmoved the whole film (and I get involved easily). I felt less empathy emotion or tension for the characters than in a commercial. Because the music is telling you "this is heroic", "this is sad", "this is scary" and you don't feel like that, it is kinda pathetic, but actually you don't even feel even much for them.
Lots of people came in and out the cinema during the projection: toilet, calls, popcorn... That's a symptom of desinterest, so it was not only me.
The battle FXs are very good, the sci-fi design is dull, and the theme doesn't add anything new to sci-fi.
It is probably a movie I will have completely forgotten in some days. Nothing remarkable there.

Re: Battle: Los Angeles...Commercial: Marines wtf?
sandinista wrote:So, I got suckered in because I am always up for watching aliens destroy the earth...but instead, I ended up watching a 2 hour commercial for the fucking US marines? Been a long time since I've seen such blatant propaganda in a film. Speechless. Awful. Painful. Laughable.
