Paranormal Activity - Crap or Not?

Post by Millefleur » Mon Jan 03, 2011 6:35 pm

Should I waste a couple of hours of my life watching this film, or is it worth it? Will I piss/shit my pants like all my old friends nearly did?

Yeah. But isn't it wonderful?

I saw it, it's okay. Suspend your disbelief for a while and it's quite enjoyable.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

Never seen it, but it looks like complete crap. If suspending your disbelief is something you can do (it's something I can do in most horror but not when presented like a documentary for some reason) then watch.

Well that was 1 hour 37 minutes and 42 seconds of utter shite. Spent the first hour waiting for something to happen and wondering how these two young people, one a student, could afford a gigantic house, cringed at the ouija board bit and the rest was just meh. Have had a year of 'OMG this film is soooooo scary' etc on facebook and at least expected to jump. Pfft.

It's a bunch of wank.

Rule one of scary movies: Check the content.
Rule two: Check the audience

If 1) involves ghosts - not scary, no matter what.
if 2) New age fans - not scary, no matter what.

I hate those flicks! They inevitably portray skeptics as irrationally closed minded.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I just really fucked me off, it was fucking stupid. The footprints in the flour, what the fuck were they, dinosaur prints? They're being haunted by a ghost dinosaur that slams doors and runs away like a pre-schooler? And the reactions too, if this bollocks could actually happen you would either put a lock on the door and sit in the corner in a puddle of piss or get the fuck out of the house, not sigh and go 'Ooh, I'm a bit scared' then go back to fucking sleep :lay:

I think it's bad but I would say watch it anyway unless you have something/anything else to do.
If you have a bottle of wine that's probably better.
Ratz it's more addictive than facebook and more fun than crack!

i cant get into a scary or suspenseful if the plot isnt plausible but suggests a realistic threat. like when m. night shamalan in his movie "signs" made the alien invaders fatal weakness water. im sure nobody who's taken one course in biology appreciated that.

I was more pissed off with the series of coincidences than that, funnily enough.
