Here is some "black humour":
Put yourself in a Southern USA state around 1910-ish, imagine that we had the interwebs back then. I know, I know, it’s a stretch, hence why I asked for imagination.

Not for prejudicial gratification or power or anything like that, just because they’re so annoying.
I’m really torn on this one.

...blah blah...
I'm sure that in a Southern USA state around 1910-ish, that joke would have been considered hilarious by most "right-thinking" white folk.
I'm not aware of anyone here or anyone else expressing the opinion that Pappa's joke in question was funny, and several told him so, and he apologised.
I was away when the shitstorm was stirred up by the Grand-Poobah of your fanboi club and wondered what all the fuss was about.
I found that post and thought "
Shit, Pappa, you're usually funnier than that. Sober up before posting again." Then I left that thread and read something else. A concept seemingly incomprehensible to PZ-Weezies.
Think of it like this:
If you went to a comedy club, and one of the comedians told a really bad joke, would you...
A) Boo him
B) Leave the club
C) Make a mental note not to bother listening to that particular comedian again
4) Go on national TV and say that the comedy club in question is a hive of racistsexisthomoxenophobia and urge all "right-minded" people to go there and see for themselves just how disgusting it is, then write in and tell you about how offended they were and if you like their letter, you'll read it out on TV.
OK, PZ doesn't have a TV show, but you get the idea.
Or do you?
