- About me: I'm well on my way to being a crazy cat lady! I love life, science, and smart people. I've got a crass and "vulgar," sometimes dark, sense of humor. I have two boyfriends (it's true - polyamory is a valid relationship style - look it up!). I don't believe in ghosts, psychics, paranormal activity, or a deity. I'm hoping to end up doing research in the field of planetary astronomy if things go well for me. I love to read about all things science, but in particular the sciences pertaining to the workings of the Cosmos. I wish Carl Sagan were my dad.

noob here :)
I wouldn't call myself an RDF "refugee" as I wasn't active on the RDF forums, just read them. I found this site on a Google search, and thought after reading some of the threads I'd like to join in from time to time. I've been a lover of science and reason since I was a small child, and find myself feeling a little alien for not being a "believer" of mysticism in the place I live right now. Between work and school I'm pretty busy most of the time, so I figure I won't be active here daily, but I have free time to waste on the weekends so I might join in some of the fun if I feel I have something to input. These forums have a vibe I appreciate, and it seems like many of the posters have a similar sense of humor to me. Also, I like to read books about astrophysics for fun.

Howdy!.. I like to read astrophysics stuff as well (when I read)
Although I just tend to indulge in the less serious parts of this forum as my scientific knowledge is pretty basic.
But there's no humour here mate.. well maybe a little

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
