And since we're all outing ourselves and becoming chummy, you can all feel free to refer to me by my first name, " :fbm:". :huggeroo:

You're going to give me a reputation, 'zilla. :demon:

Normal wrote:Btw, I like your old name as well. I once was at a sort of summer camp in Posio, and I had an imaginary relationship with a girl named Päivi for months afterwards. She was very pretty and mysterious, and I only talked to her once. Still, I imagined the link between us, and bragged to my friends about this cute girl I had met.
I've never been to Posio (driven through or past maybe twice, long time ago), so it wasn't me. Besides, I don't think I qualify for "mysterious"

I would maybe have liked my original name, if anyone outside Finland had been able to pronounce it. Imagine a four/five-year-old with bulging veins in her temples, stamping her foot at stoooopid Baltimoreans (and the Kiwis and Germans in our neighborhood), yelling "I'm *not* a baby - it is PAEE-VEE!!". Never worked - every other person called me "Baby" as long as we lived in Baltimore. :Erasb: Re: family name: both my father and his father were - um - disappointing (euphemism), so I was not too keen on dragging their name along, either.

And a globally unique name is kinda neat. A bit lonely, but also neat.

Give things away and take things that are free." - Maureen J

I think everyone knows my real name, it's on Facebook. I thought about changing my username here to Kristie, but I figured it would just confuse people.

I have to keep my username to distance myself from my (frankly) evil ex-wife.
