A convert to Islam

So what were you before converting to islam, Mandy?
Have you just replaced one religion with another? And if so, why?

i was atheist, well more of an agnostic. i just wanted to be sure if there is a God. there is.

When Islam (in this case) has political control of a nation bad things tend (not always, and it's certainly inconsistent),happen to human rights, freedom of speech, intellectual integrity and that sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong, it's all well and good believing what ever you want to. Actually believing something that is not proved is harmless.
But when this subjective hard dogma get involved at a societal level, history has taught us that bad things happen.

IMHO, a secular, low-dogmatic, pluralistic political system coupled with an education system based on attempting to foster greater critical thinking would be my Utopia, not that totalitarian Dystopia.

You know why? Islam dictates that its followers spend so much time with their arses in the air or reading their filthy book that they have little time for anything else like progress*, education and, thankfully, the independent development of nuclear weapons or other reasonably efficient weapons for that matter. Not that what they have isn't significant, but it could be a lot worse. Allah shot himself in the fucking foot by holding them back in the development of WMDs didn't he?

*This despite being at the grass roots of civilisation - which I find fucking hard to believe.
