Meanwhile, it looks as if RDF is finally back on line. And, it also looks as if there's one or two canards to be bombed (again). So, I'll leave the browser tabs for this place open, but expect my responses to be somewhat slow as a consequence of delivering more carpet bombings. :)

Oh, and as for that thread in which Byers was handed a smacking by dev, I'm having trouble finding it right now, but I'll find it in due course. Fortunately, I maintain offline backups of enough relevant posts to be able to do this, but it takes a bit of time. :)

Bugger. Finding this thread is taking longer than I thought. Because as part of the measures to save hits on the database, the forum search facility at RDF has been replaced with a Google search. Which is nowhere near as specific (I can't limit searches to particular forum subsections or particular authors anymore), and sometimes leads me on a wild goose chase.

I'd just like to say that seeing you around has given me a loverly joygasm, Cali. Also, glad to read, earlier, that your fish are frisky.

In that case SS, pop over to dev's pub thread and read my lecture on art history. :)

About the War of Independence in Ireland, for those of you who don't know. (This war finished before the foundation of the Free State, which preceded the Republic. It is the war depicted in the Michael Collins film). This song is in no way related to the various assholes who've called themselves the IRA since the 1940s.

These are assigned randomly, or is there a chromatic pecking order, as it were, such that one colour signifies a minor attention seeker, whilst another colour signifies someone to whom Warren Beatty's quip about Madonna applies?

(For those who didn't see this, after the filming of Dick Tracy, Warren Beatty uttered the following words about Madonna: "What's the point of talking off-camera? She doesn't live off-camera, much less talk".)
