If he does, then we'll the rest of us will take ringside seats.
EDIT: Although some of us may eventually jump the barricades and join in ...

We're
all pretty much middle-distant relatives of each other, actually - particularly if our ancestors have shared the same country for the past indefinite number of generations.
Feel incestuous yet?

Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

Thankfully, my link with Thorhalland was in the 18th century so I don't feel too tainted by association.
As for feeling incestuous, I'm a product of incest. One of my great grandmothers married (illegally) her father's youngest brother so my family tree has a whole section missing.

Considering how many incestuous offspring there are in deepest, rural England, you'll be burning a lot of witches!

Hrrrmmmm... Is there a carbon-neutral way to get rid of this pestilence? |

Incest I can deal with but the shame I have is mum was a Scot.

“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”
John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

Hi DP - thanks for the welcome and I'll try not to panic.

Good, panic is the path to the dork side of the farce,
if you want a custom rank/colour/rank image just drop a line to myself or any of the other red peeps and we'll sort you out.

You need to make sure some of them are sober first though....

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Thanks DP, I'll have a think about the rank etc.
May I just say how much I like it here. In the old days (before I was an RDF admin etc), I loved the banter I had with people, especially Shaker, Clinton, JimC et al. I miss that and I hope to find it again with them and others here. Thank you so much all of you for making me feel so welcome - I really appreciate it.
