Hi PeteDarwin, and welcome!

I did a couple of years of zoology, but ended up majoring in geology (Adelaide Uni).
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

I just added you to my "Blog window". You're in with the likes of PZ Myers and Jerry Coyne.

Hey guys! Cheers for the welcome

Hey Faithfree, I did geology in first and second year and loved it, quite a few of my friends are doing masters in geology at the moment, and i envy the fact that they get to travel to some amazing places to do their work (china, timor, etc). Nice to meet you mate!

Lol are you referring to the BS creationists try to use to bring both science/geology together with biblical literacy? lol - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flood_geology I can only laugh... reading this stuff gives me the feeling I'm going to have a stroke.

I dabble a bit in palaeontology, so I've still got a toe, just a little toe, in the zoology camp.
