The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Well hot damn, this is fantastic! I've been here an hour and I've already caused a clusterfuck - my natural environment.

Thanks for that! And thanks for the secret handshake, Ele.

Did you bring cheese? :what:

Or beer. Beer will do. Or any kind of alcohol really. Well, ethanol obviously - no propanol or any of that long-chain shit - we are an ethanol only forum. Ethanol and cheese. An ethanol and cheese only forum. And (grudgingly) bacon, I suppose. And cake - we like cake. Fuck it - any kind of free food will get eaten and washed down by any variety of boozy swill that you care to proffer.

Is that clear?

I hope not - else you want watching!

Hello!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Oh, I can bring beer. I've been homebrewing beer for a while now - right now I got 10 gallons of the stuff gestating in my home. It's one of the ways I can bring my work chops (molecular biology) into my domestic life. Oh, that and bathtub methamphetamines. You can take the boy out of Missouri, but you can't take the Missouri out of the boy...

Sadly, no cheese.

Cheers all, thanks for the welcome,
