Afternoon

Post by Razor » Wed Mar 03, 2010 2:54 pm

Hello all. Brand new on here so just thought I'd introduce myself. First thing to say is that I am not an ex-member of the RD forum. That in itself makes me a novelty right now I'm guessing ;)

Mostly I've been plying my debating wares on more generic politics and religions sites, with no specific atheistic angle or whatever. I'd thought perhaps I'd see what its like to have regular debates with like-mided folk. I've always imagined it might be somewhat dull to be always agreeing with each other but then again I don't underestinate the ability of us humans to find an argument in anything, and it would at least be nice to be able to expect a rational reply. Plus I'm hoping there's plenty of educational fare to be had.

Whats your experience? Good place for debate and learning or more a haven from our fundi friends?

Other info if you care:

Male
British (London-based)
35
Married, kids yada yada.
And, if not clear already: atheist.

Good morning, and welcome

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

Welcome! :td:

We're a pretty laid-back bunch, with most pub-style off-topic talk, but we can discuss anything and everything.

Except that thing which shall not be mentioned... :leave:

You know what they say about herding cats. We can never agree on anything - particularly the virtues of cheese or bacon. :hehe: (a recurring theme)

Until now we've been a small group that has failed, or almost failed, to attract attention from fundies. Perhaps that will change with the flood of RDF refugees. :dono:
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

Hmm, tough one; I can see the potential for fiery disagreement. Would that be cheese and bacon together as a combo or their seperate merits?

Hi there Razor, and welcome! :flowers:

Haven from fundies, which is fine for fun a a little bit of chewing.
