Earlier on, I was viewing who was online, and I caught someone in the act of registering an account,..
...and yet when I went to check for a new member, there wasn't one!
Guess they changed their mind.

Or it hasn't been activated, or the account was a spammer and died a slow, lingering, agonizing death.

Hadn't considered that, maybe this will turn into an actual welcome thread at some point.

Having checked, I'd say "no". No new accounts pending approval at this time. Could have been a back-off, or a lost connection, or a priest who had to change pages really quick so the parishioners wouldn't see where he was signing up.

Most spammers don't even get past the forum's anti-spam measures in place on registration.

I didn't realise you could see that level of detail about a user's current activity. It must be related to the board style.
So I was composing a PM at that time then. Well, I never.

Scratch that. I didn't realise (or more likely just forgotten) that "who is online" is a link, not just a label.
But what if you had more than one tab open, and were doing different things in each?

The who is online tab seems to override all others.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
