Sir Cliff Richard 'may sue the BBC' over raid report
Sir Cliff Richard has said he is considering suing the BBC over their coverage of the 2014 police raid on his home over allegations of sexual abuse.
Last week prosecutors announced the singer would face no charges over the historic claims.
The singer has told the Daily Mail the BBC "have a lot to answer for" for broadcasting the raid live on TV.
"Somebody has to teach them a lesson and if it's done by suing, let's do it," he said.
"And the same with South Yorkshire Police. They have damaged me in a great way," he added.
The raid was part of an investigation into claims made by four men who alleged offences took place between 1958 and 1983.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it had decided there was "insufficient evidence to prosecute".
Sir Cliff said he was "obviously thrilled that the vile accusations and the resulting investigation have finally been brought to a close".

He should sue. If he has legal standing. But it's not going to be easy.
In this country, if I falsely accuse someone of sexual abuse in a newspaper, or on the telly, they can sue me, and the newspaper or tv channel. And they don't need to PROVE that I was lying. They just need to get a decision on the balance of probability.
It's a good deterrent against false accusations being published.
But if I go to the POLICE, and make a false accusation, the press and the tv can publish that fact with all the innuendo they can possibly include. So long as it's carefully worded, they can blacken your name as much as they like, under the guise of news reporting.
So the criminal legal process is just a way around the libel laws, for the press.
Cliff Richard might find that it hard to convince a judge that news reporting was in effect libel. Or that the police have a duty to suppress facts of an investigation.
The law needs to change.

He should send the remaining cast of the Young Ones over to BBC headquarters to give them a good kicking...
