Nice of Bill Nye to give recognition that the debate over guided versus unguided evolution is a serious topic worthy of his intellectual standing.
Surely nobody is suggesting that Mr Nye's standing in the scientific community will suffer as a result of debating creationism/ID/theistic evolution/etc.

He actually said it's something you have to be agnostic about - he said it's not knowable, not that it deserves recognition as a valid hypothesis (if it's untestable it's not valid).

I thought Ham did the best with what little he had to work with - and of course I'm biased - but towards the end he just devolved into a babble-thumper. I think the debate went quite to the heart of the matter: evidence vs belief. You got evidence or you ain't got nothin'.
