That's putting it very miledly Heyjude!!!!! But NOOOO this little creature is out of hand, out of it's boundaries, in fact it claims that all boundaries are its. That' a little more than a passing phase like 2yr old toddlers.
And of course they will behave and place nice in our Universities, after all they do get grants, pells and all kind of other assistance by our government.
But when they leave, it's like "Thanks, and kiss my ass, you infidel".
Yeah... you're right. I guess on the one hand I was comparing it to ancient religions that raped, pillaged and fucked around in the same sorts of ways and are now gone, but then the relative moral code of the world was different in those days too. So yeah... I guess though I do believe it *will* disappear at some point (whether it'll be a nice natural death or because the whole species is kerplunkt I dunno)... I guess my real feelings are not so ambivalent. I don't like using hate though. Maybe because I have muslim friends who I distinctly don't hate... but I also wonder wtf causes them to think the way they do (well... I know... but you know what I mean). Sad sad sad....
yeah.... I know... you are right. I am repulsed I guess.... that is probably more how I feel.

It's incredibly disturbing ... and confusing. I mean, villifying, abusing and murdering their own kin, let alone others ... wtf???

That's quite cool.
Except a lot of theists have abandoned their humanity.

Very true. When you put enforcing dogma ahead of the needs and rights of other human beings, then you have lost your humanity. Granted, I have seen this happen in christianity also, but it seems to be far more prevalent in islam.

Yep. I avoided using "Muslims" and chose "theists". At the heart of every religion (correct me - gently - if I'm wrong), always seems the selfish desire to avoid the oblivion that sane (yes) people know is heading their way. Everlasting life, Paradise ...

About me: Like most people I've done a little modelling and acting. Unlike most people I was born with 11 toes- not on each foot- but had the spare one removed to make buying shoes earier. I had the little blighter mounted on a necklace but had it stolen.
That's how the saying goes, I think. No, I don't hate Islam. I've read The Koran and it's miles better the The Bible. My problem is that someone should give up thier free will to another. Priest/Imam it's all the same. Why do you need a go-between in your relationship with your god? Regardless of wether there is one/many or not, surely your god wants you to interact with them personally? Who sits at home listening to the radio, hoping to catch a glimpse of the TV?
Organise any religion and it fails. Two people= argument and schism. And that only leads to arguments.

But the playaaa is willing to play the game and even sees a reward in it. What's the difference?? Dis you see the movie "Hostile"?? well' you must be one sick individual to willingly participate in this game. People are sick, they invent all kinds of human torture games and have no need for an explanation. It's just a game.

Er, was that aimed at me? It was a(n attempt at a) humorous fix. I've highlighted the whole thing I did ...

It was not aimed at you. No of course not. I was just saying how I feel it works.
Blasphemy is important? WTF? "Blasphemy" only exists in relation to the notion it is purported to offend. When you don't accept the validity of the notion it is purported to offend, "blasphemy" is meaningless. Skeptical criticism? Now that's a concept I get behind.
That congregations' reaction to the smashed icon is a whole other topic, btw.
Elessarina wrote:I dislike Islam. I can't help that I feel that way. Why? Because it tell people they can't eat ham or bacon, it leads to people dictating what women should wear, it leads to people circumcisiing women..
Because it's a bullshit set of rules made up by an illiterate paedophile .. and it's yet another thing that causes conflict and division between people.
France also dictates to women what they can and cannot wear. I bet you dislike France too.
Labour and Tories also cause division among people, and UK and US had a major confilct with Iraq for no valid reasons. All lies.
cheers
How does France dictate that? And no I don't dislike France. I just despise religion - it's medieval bullshit. yes politics causes divide as well.. we know that but politics (in a democratoic society) doesn't encourage people to hate others because of their sexuality, politics fill people's heads with ridiculous ideas like paradise and heaven and tell people they'll be punished for doing anything that might well be classed as "fun".
