didnt you know that originally earth was made pretty by God.
Why would Allah let Satan mess things up? Doesn't it make Allah seem a bit.... well.... impotent.
"Well, sonny, Allah created evil to test the faithful. And he needed evil to test the faithful because there was no other way he could test the faithful. You see, the omnipotent being we worship can't tell what's in our hearts, so he needs overt actions to determine if you're faithful or not. We can ignore the fact that we wouldn't have evil thoughts and deeds if Allah hadn't allowed evil to exist. That is to speed up the conversation, not a slam on Allah, btw."

I wonder if Mandy has read the koran in arabic. From everything I've been reading, you haven't read the koran until you've read it in the original language. Seems a translation into another language isn't really considered the koran - it's okay to use to convert people with, but once they become muslims, they should start learning to read the koran in the original arabic, which is the only true koran.

To maintain tighter control on the information or just that the thing sounds fuckin' silly in English?

The usual given reason is that it's poetic, metaphorical language that is difficult to translate. I suppose that means it's even difficult to understand properly in Arabic too. :ask:

Hey, whaddya expect, Beowulf was written about the same time koran was, would you easily understand Beowulf without intense schooling to translate it between 5th century English and modern English?

The poet who wrote Beowulf was divinely inspired.
