It would be more correct to say that atheists have no use for religion, rather than us being "anti". Most atheists are perfectly tolerant of main-stream religious people going about their business, as long as that does not include trying to enforce religious dictates onto others...

It's the angels. Everyone knows that angels are triangular. It's because they have no time for proper cardio

This is BIG. BIGGER THAN ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE. And even this galaxy is just a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things.

None from current mainstream christian churches...

After the enlightenment and the spread of civilised behaviour pulled their teeth, of course. The Spanish inquisition is no more...

But certainly there are places on this Earth where religious authorities are able to inflict their irrational beliefs on anyone...

Give us one example of religious persecution (not including me!) that you have experienced in our modern secular society.

You missed my point - here, in a western country in the present day, I am not directly persecuted. I may have some criticism of the behaviour of some religions, particularly if they try to influence secular politics, but sure, they no longer persecute non-believers, because over the years, their secular powers have (rightly) waned, and have been pruned back, usually with them fighting the pruning all the way. If religions leave me alone, I have no desire to work towards their destruction, though I reserve the right to be critical.

Religious persecution existed in the west in the past, and in Islamic countries right now. All religions claim their own truths to be universal, and, unless constrained by secular laws, tend to encroach on those outside their own flocks.
