I once believed that the best use for the Quran was as toilet paper. I still believe that.

I put one through a shredder once. Nothing happened. Well, it shredded, but no bangs or flashes or anything untoward from Allah. I wondered whether to use the shreddings with menstrual blood to make a Papier-mâché model of the female pudendum (using only my clean right hand to work with and a sacred cleansing pebble for a clitoris), but I couldn't be arsed, so I had a wank over some gay porn instead.Ian wrote:I once believed that the best use for the Quran was as toilet paper. Are you an artist? Sounds like Mapplethorpe. There's funding for that kind of thing.Tigger wrote:I put one through a shredder once. Nothing happened. Zero placed name functions refer directly to things. "JOZeldenrust" is a zero placed name function. It refers to me. "Mother" is a one placed name function. In itself it doesn't refer to anything. The place can be filled with a zero placed name function, like "JOZeldenrust", resulting in the new zero placed name function "JOZeldenrusts mother", which does refer to a thing. (no, my mum won't mind me calling her a thing, as she's a sensible woman)mandelson wrote:JOZeldenrust, you're getting me all confused now coz what you said i dont undertand it.JOZeldenrust wrote: ETA: You might want to look up the difference between singular and quantified terms (or zero placed name functions) and predicates (one placed sentence functions). i dont know those any of those words wrote down. i aint got high education like you have. i cant afford university. i aint a rich lad. so i go to collage coz its free for students. i get cheap books from second hand shops. i cant buy top books from waterstones. i work 6 hours 5-11pm for 7 evenings to make sure i stand on my own feet.
"Water" is also a zero placed name function. "Wet" isn't. "Wet" doesn't refer to anything. However, other then "mother", it's impossible to turn "wet" into a term that refers to a thing by making a relative connection like you can with "mother". You need a predicative connection, because "wet" is a one placed sentence function. It is possible to connect "wet" to a zero placed name function like "JOZeldenrusts mother", but it requires a different construction: "JOZeldenrusts mother is wet." This term refers to a thing, a state of affairs to be exact.

By the way, you can buy books about formal logic pretty much anywhere, and they don't have to be expensive to be good. Also, if you're in college, there's probably a possibility to sit in on classes from other courses. I know I can on my university. Educate yourself. Most people here have.

Libraries are excellent resources. You can educate yourself on nearly any topic for free. If there is something you'd like to learn about, I'm sure there is someone on this forum who can recommend some books to start with, Mandy. Lack of money isn't an excuse for lack of knowledge. It's obvious you have an Internet connection. There are plenty of reputable websites that you can learn from also. All you have to do is ask and someone will direct you to them.JOZeldenrust wrote:Zero placed name functions refer directly to things. "JOZeldenrust" is a zero placed name function. It refers to me. It's called contradictions. They're fucking everywhere in the Koran. And the Bible. And every religion ever. Why? 'Cause the people who created that Koran, Bible, etc. were too fucking stupid to actually fix everything before sending it out.
If Allah is perfect he wouldn't be a hypocrite and make contradictions now, would he?

Mandy, I'm interested in your opinion on Tigger's quote "mate", it seems that you don't even know the contents of the book you base your moral system on "mate"Tigger wrote:Voila:mandelson wrote:it is you who are ignorant of the facts. you didnt even quote me one thing, did you mate.Feck wrote:So fucking children and slaves ,beating your wife(s) and killing everyone who doesn't agree with you is perfect ?

Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.)
and if you don't even know the contents "mate" how can you claim that it's perfect "mate"

I'm afraid Mandelson takes no notice of any information we present, and is renowned for ignoring links, so you're stuffed if you're expecting a reply.Link wrote:Mandy, I'm interested in your opinion on Tigger's quote "mate", it seems that you don't even know the contents of the book you base your moral system on "mate"Tigger wrote:Voila:mandelson wrote:it is you who are ignorant of the facts. you didnt even quote me one thing, did you mate.Feck wrote:So fucking children and slaves ,beating your wife(s) and killing everyone who doesn't agree with you is perfect ?

look mate, i do know Allah's books. i have read the Quran. im telling you it doesnt say to muslims to kill people who dont believe in islam. i dont know where Feck invented that lie from. i asked him to prove it but he couldnt. Tigger was brave enough to try, but he messed up to.Link wrote:

read the contexts of the verses he quoted mate. they are about war battlefield. Allah is telling his Prophet to kill all the bastards who are firing arrows at you. you dont have to a scientist to see that tigger quotes dont even answer the question i asked Feck. the chaps quoted verses out of context. you can see their case is bollocks.
the verses Feck quoted also prove that he too couldnt my question. they too are about battle situation where prisoners of war are mentioned. it was like Prophet was ordered by Allah to drop the nuke on hiroshima to wipe out the bloody japs in 1945. you dont have problem with that do you? americans did it too. they killed civilians but Prophet killed only soldiers. so who is better? americans or the Prophet Mohammed? Allah is the greatest.

mate, let me tell you what Tails Turrosaki said too. he believes all sorts of bollocks. for example, he claimed without proof that Quran is full of contradiction. the poor chap is he is losing it up their.
Allah openly said there are no contradictons in his book. he even dared atheists to find one in the Quran. but since no atheist has ever found one proper logical contradiction, these chaps start to chat bollocks. mate, theyre clutching at straws. you can see this in their replies to me. all over this rationalia forum they cant show any rational proof against Quran. they think im gonna buy their sly moves. they have to prove things, which they know they cant. Allah is seeing it all and mocking the atheists who are getting beaten by me.
