Pissed off with winter big time!!!
Can't blame ya, it has been one hell of a winter east of the Mississippi.

But where I'm located (SE British Columbia, Canada), we're calling it "the winter that wasn't" because it has been the mildest winter ever seen in these parts. Today for example it is sunny and bright at 50 degrees, against what would normally be a daytime high of around 12-15 degrees in snow conditions. It hasn't snowed here for weeks and though we had a cold snap in December for a week, it has been mild, mild, mild.

El Nino is a contributing factor.

Global warming skeptics are claiming all that snow the East has suffered (down to Atanta no less) proves the GW is a hoax but the odd truth is all that snow is a direct result of global warming, which has affected what's known as the Arctic Circulation and allowed warmer, more moisture laden air to move into the East. This is at least partly attributed to the effects of an El Nino year.

So it may very well be the beginning of new trend in Eastern winters, so ya might wanna keep that snow shovel tuned up.

Our climate here has warmed noticeably over the past 30 years. We now have flocks of resident wild turkeys, which were simply not seen here before about 2003, and a number of other bird species have moved in from the South, plus who knows what sort of insect life.

We depend upon snow for our water, known as "snow dominated hydrology," and are becoming increasingly concerned that any continuation of the "winter that wasn't" syndrome will pose threats to our water supply. February has been our traditional heavy winter month, yet this year it has felt like March all through February, and trees hereabouts are budding out. Next thing ya know the crocus will be up. I've seen Robins about and they've never returned earlier than late March.

Strap in! :console:
A crime was committed against us all.
