Pope does it again.

The fucking pope is proclaiming bollocks again. OK, that's not exactly news but he is still a twat. Who cares how many Africans die just so long as they get baptised first, eh? :nono:

I love this Pope. My wife's Catholicism was already on its last legs before he was "poped". Soon I expect complete capitulation.

My son and I laughed when this was discussed on TV today and I loved watching her roll her eyes and slink into the kitchen ;)

Yep, the liberal catholics at my school don't like him (or our conservative dickhead of an archbishop, George Pell), but not enough to stop them being catholics...

Its got little to do with this Pope though, its the Catholic position on contraception, and it would be so whoever was Pope. I doubt any Pope would change the stance in the foreseeable future either.

I'm sorry but, the Catholic church lost all rights to speak about morals, decency and standards after what they did.

Did they ever have that right? Apart from self-assumed that is?

The Pope says "go bareback!"

Post by Gawdzilla Sama » Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:32 am

Borrowed from skepticforum.com:
brauneyz wrote:
Rome - The Catholic church in Italy lashed out on Monday at what it called a "mockery" of Pope Benedict XVI for rejecting condoms as a weapon against Aids, comments that he made while on a visit to Africa.
"We will not accept the Pope being made the object of mockery and offence, in the media or elsewhere," said Angelo Bagnasco, the country's top bishop, citing the "controversy about condoms".
"He represents for everyone a moral authority, which this journey has made people appreciate even more," Bagnasco said.
The bishop complained of "heavy criticism of our beloved Pope, which goes on longer than it should".
Ya Hear that? We won’t accept it, we won’t, we won’t, we won’t… :beee: :beee: :beee:

If it winds up there, cool. However, I'm in the mood for some rowdy, so I doubt it.

There is already a thread about this subject in News - http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=752 - they should be merged and moved to A&R IMO.
