There are some problems with Gini, but as a relative measure it stands it's ground - even if it's basically bean counting. Economic and social systems vary too widely to draw definitive conclusion, even against the backdrop of international trade, finance and media. One thing's for sure though, capitalism will kill us all if it carries on unopposed!
